Wainwright penned this story soon after his walk to the Roman Wall in the September of 1938 with events in Europe moving towards a crisis. The story was then put away in a drawer and was published, unchanged in 1986. This is the 1st Edition and is in almost fine condition. A very nice copy of a very celebrated book. Be assured that despite the difference in shading between the 2 associated pictures that there is no fading on the front or spine or rear of the book, the differences are merely due to the scanning process.
