Our hosting service has swiftly got our listings back onto the web after database changes. However, Microsoft have still been unable to resolve our scanner problem, so we are still unable to list new stock and are unable to list our newest New Naturalist acquisitions, namely Fungi, Lakeland, British Seals, The Lake District (NN 57), Ireland (NN 84), Northumberland (NN 95) and The Highlands and Highlands (NN6)...ALL FIRST EDITIONS IN NICE CONDITION. Do get in touch if you have any questions about them. We continue to want to buy Birds Of The Western Palearctic and New Naturalist volumes, so do get in touch if you have any on offer, phone 07962 027360 or email us at enquiries@azorabooks.co.uk, we'd love to hear from you. Asa Briggs' 5 Volume "The History Of Broadcasting In The United Kingdom" is mentioned in September's "History Today". We offer the 1995 updated re-issued edition of this magnificent work at £200-00p plus postage, a "snip". For any delivery queries then do email us at:- enquiries@azorabooks.co.uk or call us on 07962 027360 and we'll resolve matters swiftly. We are currently looking for a copy of:- "History of Political and Religious Persecutions from the Earliest Days of the Christian Church" by Fernando Garrido and C. B. Cayley (Volume I only). It also seems to be known as "The History of Political and Religious Persecutions including an account of the Turkish atrocities in Bulgaria" by J.E. Ritchie and may have been reprinted in Spain in 1978 (both volumes reprinted)...we would be very interested in anyone offering this volume! New Naturalist Editions, various Signed Editions, Birds of the Western Palearctic (several volumes)and books on Roman Coins in India and Roman Remains in Libya, just a few of the type of books Azorabooks has to offer. Don't hesitate to contact us about any particular New Naturalist title you are looking for and we will see what we can do for you. Keep a regular check on our continually changing New Naturalist listings to ensure you don't miss out on the New Naturalist title you are particularly looking for. WE ARE ALSO LOOKING FOR VARIOUS NN TITLES FOR ONE OF OUR REGULAR CUSTOMERS, SO ANY OFFERS OF NNs WILL BE SERIOUSLY CONSIDERED. We have over 40 signed editions from Margaret Thatcher to Bruce Reynolds (Great Train Robber), one or two well known novelists such as Rebecca West and William Boyd and we are always coming across new and interesting signings...let us know what you are particularly looking for and we'll see what we can do. Recently acquired was a signed autobiography by the late George Melly and a signed copy of the New Naturalist volume, A History of Ornithology by Peter Bircham; do have a look at his one!. Recently listed are "Roman Coins From India" by Paula J. Turner and "LIBYA: The Lost Cities Of The Roman Empire". Both these books are scarce and are sought after by Roman History enthusiasts. Continuing the Roman theme, but a new departure for Azorabooks, we have entered the field of publishing by re-publishing "Roman Lancashire" by W Thompson Watkin. When first printed in 1883 it was considered to be the work on Roman Lancashire and is still a very useful source of reference to anyone interested in Roman Lancashire. "Roman Lancashire" was mentioned on Radio 4s "Making History" (last year)as well as in December and April's issues of "Treasurehunting" Magazine. Related to the Roman theme, we have a Vulgate Bible, "A Natural History of Latin" & "Latin or The Empire of a Sign". In our Natural History section you can see an 8 volume set of "A History Of British Birds" by Rev. F. O. Morris; the colour plates are excellent. We also have Bernard Heuvelmans scarce, but celebrated book on cryptozoology, "On The Track Of Unknown Animals"; ours is a lovely copy at a very reasonable price. We have a Dickens 1st Edition, namely "Dombey & Son"; it's a nice copy. On the Military History front we have obtained another copy of "Chink" by Lavinia Greacen, "the man who laid the plan that beat Rommel at the 1st battle of Alamein"; this book is scarce, but we have sold several copies indicating quite a level of interest in it. If there are any titles you are looking for that are not listed then email us at enquiries@azorabooks.co.uk. We accept commissions to find individual books or collections of books, please contact us via enquiries@azorabooks.co.uk or call us on 07962 027360 and we will be pleased to see what we can do for you. Also, if you would care to register with us (and register for our newsletter) we will then keep you abreast of what we are doing and when we have something very significant coming up for sale. Our terms of business are a full refund if not delighted with the books you receive; it's a no quibble offer. We look forward to supplying you with all your book requirements. We are always interested in new acquisitions, so we welcome the opportunity to buy individual volumes or collections where they fall within our areas of interest. In particular we are looking for various titles in the Collins New Naturalist series and also the Wayside & Woodland series.
